Katy Goodman's band La Sera debuts new single Losing To The Dark off upcoming third album Hour of the Dawn.

La Sera is Katy Goodman's new band which now press ahead as Vivian Girls called it quits. The band will actually release their third studio album Hour of the Dawn on May 13 via Hardly Art, and they've now debuted the opening cut Losing to the Dark. Spanning 10 tracks, Goodman wanted the follow-up to 2012′s Sees the Light to "sound like Lesley Gore fronting Black Flag". With lead punk-single Losing to the Dark, her wish appears to have come true as the song combines Black Flag’s stomping energy and flailing electric guitars with Gore’s pop sensibilities.

All in all, Losing to the Dark is a fun and raucous track sure to appeal to people mourning the loss of Vivian Girls and any Black Flag/Lesley Gore fans, too. Take a listen to it below.
